The Beginning of the U.S.A.

Today we rose early to travel to a place at the coast of the James river, Jamestown. There we looked at the original fort and church there, and also at new town, the part of Jamestown that was built after the colony started to thrive and get ships coming to their little port town. After that, we drove down to Yorktown, where there are battle sites from both the revolutionary war, and the American Civil War. We spent a few hours walking and driving around the earthworks and defensive positions around colonial Yorktown. Finally, we went to colonial Williamsburg, where we walked down the streets and looked at the colonial houses and shops. After all the days activities, we drove back home.
