Music City and then some

Hello various readers, today we woke up in Nashville. We stayed there last night and we explored the city this morning. Our first stop was Centennial Park where the replica of the Parthenon from Ancient Greece is located. We payed admission then went inside where there was a gallery with pictures and items from the Tennessee Centennial Celebration. Inside was a replica of the Athena Parthenos.

After that, we went geocaching and found a few caches.

We continued our Civil War tour at Fort Negley near downtown Nashville. This is the location of the Battle of Nashville where Union troops occupied the city after the mayor and prominent members of society surrendered in 1862. This historic gem is a city park and therefore has no admission price. We ended up meeting an author inside the visitor's center and bought his book.

Nashville is so much more than Music City!
