Greetings From Arkansas
Arkansas is beautiful and refreshing in the morning. I sat in a rocking chair on the front porch of our friend's house and wrote in my journal. I felt refreshed and the view was beautiful. Tall oak trees, a friendly cat at my feet, and more green grass than I've seen in years.
We were ready and out the door in good time, but in proper Arkansas manner, we stalled with talking and discovering the surroundings. MA discovered a private entrance to a secret cave made of bushes and trees. Once inside the cave she promptly came out screaming and thrashing at her feet. Turns out wasps made a nest in the ground and were angry that she disturbed their neat home. Seven stings later, she was ready to throw a bomb at the flying terrorists. (Too harsh?) We were able to still fit in a few sight seeing stops though.
Little known fact, Little Rock was actually named for a little rock formation along the Arkansas river. It was so little in fact, we were unable to see it when looking for it along the bank. Oh well. I'm sure the rest of Little Rock is not so underwhelming. Geocache anyone?
This evening we are resting in a Memphis hotel room eating creole food. Yum! So glad the hotel provides complimentary water bottles, though.
